Dual Degree Accelerated Medical Program

For High School Seniors (incoming first time freshman students)

 Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine-Seven-year BS/DO

  • Application for admission and supporting documentation must be submitted to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ University no later than November 30
  • To be considered for admission to this program, the applicant must be a high school senior with a superior GPA and class standing, and have been accepted to Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ University.
  • Must have completed 4 years of English, 3 years of Science, 3 years of Mathematics prior to enrolling at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
  • SAT scores should be at least 1310 combined Evidence-Based Reading & Writing and Mathematics, with a minimum of 640 in the Math section, and minimum of 670 in the EBRW section-from one testing date (scores from different tests cannot be combined).
  • ACT scores should be at least a 28 Composite, with a minimum of 27 in the Math section, and minimum of 60 in English+ Reading sections combined-from one testing date (scores from different tests cannot be combined).
  • An interview with representatives from both Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ and Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine will be required.
  • Students accepted to the program must maintain a minimum 3.25 GPA at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ and must have a minimum grade of B in each of the courses required for entrance into Rowan SOM. Grades of B- are not acceptable.
  • Required courses in which grades of B- or less are received cannot be repeated to earn a higher grade in order to remain in the program.
  • The academic record of each student will be reviewed at the end of each semester while enrolled at Students failing to maintain the required overall 3.25 GPA and/or earn grades of less than B in each required course will be dropped from the Dual Degree Program. They will be allowed, if appropriate grades are maintained, to continue at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
  • Each student must meet with their preceptor for a preliminary "grad audit" which will take place during the student's next to last semester at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
  • Students must successfully complete all pre-Rowan SOM courses at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ prior to transfer.
  • Students accepted to the seven-year program with Rowan SOM will be expected to complete the MCAT exam during the spring of their junior year (sixth semester). The MCAT score that Rowan SOM expects matriculating students to earn is not firm, yet will most likely be equal to or exceed the 73 percentile mark (approximately 505; 2016 ratings). Students must accept and understand that Rowan SOM reserves the right to apply minimum MCAT score expectations without approval from Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾.
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology from Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ awarded after successful completion of the first year at Rowan School of Osteopathic Medicine.
