PerformYard
Beginning in fall 2025, we will be shifting from the annual managerial evaluation review (MER) process to a Quarterly Performance Check-In between each manager and their direct supervisor. These check-ins are designed to foster stronger communication, provide timely feedback, and ensure managers receive the support they need throughout the year.
- A brief performance conversation and documentation completed once each quarter (October, January, April, and July).
- Focused on accomplishments, areas for improvement, development, and support needs.
- Involves only the manager and their supervisor.
- Hosted in and tracked within PerformYard.
- The written check-in will involve two pieces:
- Managers will complete a short self-assessment.
- Supervisors will provide feedback and identify priorities for the next quarter.
- Managers and their direct supervisors are encouraged to meet and discuss the content they both submit for the check-in including reviewing key takeaways and action steps.
- Creates regular opportunities to recognize successes and address challenges in real time.
- Provides a structured forum for discussing growth and development goals.
- Strengthens alignment and partnership between managers and supervisors.
The quarterly check-ins are intended to be constructive, forward-looking conversations that replace the more formal, once-a-year review. By making performance discussions more frequent and collaborative, we aim to better support your success and the success of your teams.

PerformYard features include:
- Platform and repository for ongoing performance communication replacing the single time per year review. We will be able to move away from a static, once-a-year review process and instead move towards a focus on ongoing, improved communication between managers and their supervisors. The system provides tools for consistently and regularly documenting conversations, feedback, goal progress, and other performance notes.
- More thorough and effective goal development and tracking. With PerformYard, you will be able to add, modify, and update goals on a continuous basis throughout the year. Additionally, you will be able to create and utilize goal checklists and input progress updates that you and the supervisors above you will have access to 24-7.
- Feedback & Recognition tool. PerformYard allows you to share feedback with any manager in the system both publicly and privately. You can also request feedback from other managers within the system.
- 360-degree feedback tool. Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾ plans to implement 360-degree feedback for managers as a professional development tool, and, with PerformYard, all feedback and performance data will be solicited and housed in one system.
