Prospective Students
The Center for Academic Advising helps facilitate the admission process into Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. Our advising staff is here to answer your questions about the academic program of your choice.

First Year Students
Once you have been accepted and paid your deposit, you will need to ensure you have completed placement testing. Please visit the placement testing webpage for more information.
First-Year students who complete placement testing early are eligible for the pre-registration program, which allows you to receive some of your courses ahead of new student orientatin. Monitor your inbox from admissions for information regarding pre-registration.
At your orientation you will choose classes with the aid of faculty and staff. A typical schedule for a freshman would be:
- A W1 (writing intensive) class.
- A first year seminar (part of your General Studies requirement)
- A Q1 class (quantitative reasoning/math) class
- A beginning class in your major, or another General Studies course.
An emphasis will be placed helping you understand Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾'s curriculum. If you would like to learn more about Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾'s curriculum, please check out our Curriculum pages.

Transfer Students
The Center for Academic Advising welcomes questions from potential transfer students.
You are welcome to schedule an appointment with an advisor to see how your previous
course work applies at Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾. We ask that you submit your transcripts to the Registrar
at least 1 week prior to your appointment. Unofficial transcripts with grades will
suffice.
If you are transferring from a community college in New Jersey, you may wish to consult
to see how your credits will be placed into Âé¶¹´«Ã½ÍøÕ¾'s curriculum.

Transfer students will be advised for fall or spring classes through an orientation
program. You will be invited to attend an orientation through the Office of Admissions.
Faculty and staff in each major will help you select appropriate classes based on
the types of courses that you transferred.
