Building Evacuation Procedure

Order, control and completion are the primary features of a successful evacuation. Accordingly, the timely evacuation of a University facility shall be carried out in an orderly manner by all affected persons. These procedures encompass the evacuation of everyone occupying University facilities: students, staff, faculty, resident agencies/contractor employees and the general public.

• When evacuation is ordered, follow the directions of Public Safety and Campus Administrators.
• Evacuate in a safe, orderly manner via closest exit
• Help direct people with special needs to a safe place
  • Assembly Area Site Plan
  • Look for Evacuation Assembly Point signs
• Do not re-enter the building until Public Safety issues the "ALL CLEAR" message
